Virgin Voyages’ first ship Scarlet Lady is already set to cause a stir thanks to quirky features from an on-board tattoo parlour to drag-inspired brunches.
But now the cruise line has shared a sneak peek at one of the ship’s most important offerings; the cabins.
To be more precise, the luxury suites, showcased in a series of artists’ impressions.
In fact, Scarlet Lady will feature 78 suites, with passengers having the choice between lavish ‘Mega Rockstar’ cabins and glamorous ‘Rockstar’ suites.
Designed by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio, the rooms have been inspired by mega yachts and rock ‘n’ roll, with touches including mood lighting which automatically adjusts to the time of the day and a personalised mini bar.
Then there are a host of extra perks including access to private members’ club Richard’s Rooftop, early admission to the entertainment and restaurants, and even a private transfer to and from the ship in Miami.
Sir Richard Branson said: “Virgin has always avoided stuffy formalities and brought a lot of excitement and a bit of rebelliousness to our customer experiences.
“With these glamorous suites, Virgin Voyages is bringing rock and roll to the high seas and spoiling our Sailors like the rockstars they are.”
There will be a total of 15 Mega Rockstar suites, with four cabin types on offer; two Massive Suites, two Fab Suites, two Posh Suites and nine Gorgeous Suites.
The Massive Suites boast some pretty awesome features including a guitar-clad music room which doubles up as a separate bedroom, a ‘Peek-a-View’ shower with ocean views, hot tub, hammocks, star gazing loungers, and even a runway-style dining table with stairs so you can easily climb on and have a boogie after dinner.
Oh, and of course no rock star experience is complete without champagne; so there’ll be a specially designed table to fit ice buckets perfectly.
The remaining 63 suites will be ‘Rockstar’ suites, which will be slightly less opulent than their lavish counterparts, but still offering a whole host of glamour.
Think open plan designs, large terraces, vanity stations, outdoor showers and sun chairs so you can bask in the glorious weather.
Again, there will be four cabin types to choose from: 18 Brilliant Suites, 16 Cheeky Corner Suites (with varying terrace sizes), 24 Seriously Suites and seven Sweet Aft Suites.
Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said: “We have combined brilliant design and Virgin Voyages’ epic Sailor experience vision to create a completely new version of luxury, Rebellious Luxe, which is at the intersection of luxury and a rebellious attitude that makes everything we do different, indulgent and meaningfully relevant to our Sailors.
Whether they want to sleep all day, praise the sun with yoga at dusk or party all night, our RockStar Suite Sailors can live out their fantasies aboard the Scarlet Lady.”
Cruise holidays on board the Scarlet Lady will go on sale on the Virgin Voyages website on Thursday 14th February, ahead of the ship’s inaugural season in 2020, her first port of call being in Havana, Cuba.
Head to the website and you could enter the chance to win the opportunity to Party Like a Rockstar at the cruise line’s next #ShipTease event in New York City on Valentine’s Day.
