There are some lucky humans who can step off a long-haul flight looking fabulous, but not me!

Sleeping on the plane and living out of a suitcase makes it hard for me to maintain my every day beauty routine – but over the years I’ve discovered a few hacks that have eased the way.

Sick of washing your hair every day? Then you need to invest in some dry shampoo. A mini one that will even fit in your hand-luggage. This is perfect for early starts and you can get them from most supermarkets.

Eye gel, I don’t use eye gel on a daily basis, but I never travel without it now. Plane and hotel air conditioning can play havoc, but a little pat of eye gel vanquishes those puffy bags in no time.

Perfume bottles are bulky and fragile and travelling with your signature scent is not always worth carrying around a sock-swaddled lump. Lush sells a great range of solid perfume pots – try Dirty for a minty pick-me-up!

Also, when you sleep your face can get all scrunched up on your pillow from tossing and turning and that can cause dry skin. Not with a silk pillowcase! I throw this over the hotel pillow and have the best sleeps ever.
