Gordon Ramsay has landed a brand new series which sees him hunt for eels with his bare hands and hang off a cliff to collect cactus worms as he travels across the globe in pursuit of culinary inspiration.

The six-part National Geographic Each offering, titled Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, is due to premiere in September and follows the multi-Michelin star chef as he mixes food and adventure.

From Peru, Laos and Morocco to Hawaii, Alaska and New Zealand, Gordon will be roaring through valleys, diving into oceans, hiking through forests and scaling mountains – worlds away from re-enacting his childhood photo in MasterChef Junior.

Each installment sees Gordon, who recently welcomed new son Oscar into the world, meet with indigenous people around the world and learn about cutures, dishes and flavours unique to each location.

Every ingredient he harvests and dish he tastes will inspire a new recipe from scratch, created to represent the heart of that culture.

The installments will all end the dad-of-five challenging himself with a local food legend by his side and putting his newfound skills to the test as they cook a feast together for the locals.

Speaking about his new show, Gordon enthused: ‘It has been an amazing journey travelling off the beaten path with National Geographic and connecting with locals to learn and share incredible stories of unique traditions, delicacies and the extreme lengths it takes to harvest native ingredients.

‘I have learned way more filming this series than I have in the last 10 years.

‘I’m on an epic adventure travelling to the ends of the earth. Ditching the chef whites and getting hands on. I’m on the search of culinary inspiration – this is uncharted territory for me.’

This isn’t the first time Gordon has traveled the globe for a television series, having previously fronted Gordon’s Great Escapes for Channel 4 back in 2010.
